Dr. C. Robert Davis began serving as interim dean of the Oklahoma State University College of Education in January 2011. Davis has been the College of Education’s Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies and Assessment. A member of the OSU faculty since 1978, he holds three degrees, including a Ph.D., in special education. Davis has served the College of Education in other administrative capacities, including as academic area program coordinator and coordinating the college’s activities in the University Center at Tulsa (now OSU-Tulsa) as director of external teaching centers. He has also consulted for the OSU Athletics Department. He was the recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award from the College of Education in 1982, was named the Outstanding Faculty Associate at OSU in 2000 and the OSU Faculty Associate of the Year in 2002, and in 2005 was named the recipient of the Golden Torch Faculty Award from Mortar Board.

Dr. Steve Edwards Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research

Dr. Steve Edwards assumed the role Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research in 2008. A full professor, Edwards has served as the Associate School Head for the School of Applied Health and Educational Psychology and as the Health and Human Performance Program Coordinator. He has been an Oklahoma State University faculty member since 1982. Edwards is a certified consultant for the Association of Applied Sport Psychology. He is also a member of the United States Olympic Committee Sport Psychology Registry and a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine. His areas of expertise include exercise and sport psychology, research design and statistics, psychometrics, and measurement and evaluation. He has numerous national and international publications and presentations and is nationally recognized for his work in the psychology of physical activity and exercise. He is a Captain, the Training Officer, and Fire Investigator with the Ingalls Fire District in Payne County Oklahoma. He is trained as an EMT-B and consults nationwide in the fire service in the areas of both knowledge and psychomotor skill testing. Edwards earned bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees from Purdue University.

Dr. John S. C. Romans Head, School of Applied Health & Educational Psychology

Dr John S. C. Romans was named Head of the School of Applied Health and Educational Psychology on June 1, 2006. He holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas, a Masters degree in Counseling from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Iowa State University. He joined the OSU faculty in the Counseling Psychology area in 1990. He has served in a variety of administrative roles at OSU including Counseling Area Coordinator, Associate School Head, and Associate Dean. Dr. Romans' research interests include stalking and interpersonal violence, and career development. He recently served as the Lead investigator on OSU's Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs grant project with the Tulsa Public School District. Dr. Romans was selected as the University student organization advisor of the year in 2002 for his work with the Education Student Council.

Dr. Katye Perry Interim Head, School of Educational Studies

Dr. Katye Perry serves as the Interim Head of the School of Educational Studies in the Oklahoma State University College of Education. Perry is an associate professor in research and evaluation and been a member of the university faculty for more than 30 years. She has previously served as assistant and associate head of the School of Educational Studies. Dr. Perry received the OSU Regents Teaching Award in 1993. She was elected and served on the Board of Directors for the American Evaluation Association from 2004 to 2006. In addition, she was appointed by the American Evaluation Association President to serve as a member and now chair of the Leadership Priority Area Team. Perry’s research interests include instructional strategies for teaching program evaluation and implications for how it is practiced. She has served on various university-wide committees at OSU and is a former member of the OSU Faculty Council, Women’s Council and Multicultural Action Team. Perry holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from OSU, an M.S. degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and a B.S. from Bishop College.

Dr. Pamela Brown is Professor of Curriculum Studies and currently serves as Interim Head of the School of Teaching and Curriculum Leadership. She also serves as NCATE coordinator for OSU. She received the Regents Distinguished Teaching Award in 2006. Dr. Brown co-edited the 104th Yearbook for the National Society for the Study of Education titled Media Literacy Transforming Curriculum and Teaching and has received the Distinguished Article Award from the Journal of Early Childhood Teacher Education. She has advised 16 doctoral students through the dissertation process, and two of her advisees have been received the Outstanding Dissertation Award by the American Association for Teaching and Curriculum. Her research interests include critical media literacy and teacher research. She has served as co-chair of the Teacher Inquiry Communities special-focus network of the National Writing Project and as resources co-director of the Oklahoma State University Writing Project.

Dr. Bert Jacobson serves as Interim Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies in the Oklahoma State University College of Education. He joined the Oklahoma State University faculty in 1986 and has served as professor, Health and Human Performance Program Coordinator, Coordinator of Research and Graduate Studies and Head of the School of Educational Studies. Jacobson has also been a member the Institutional Review Board, the Termination Hearing Board, and has chaired the Academic Appeals Board. Jacobson is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and has published well over 100 refereed research articles and abstracts and has an equal number of peer-reviewed presentations. Jacobson holds an Ed.D. from Oklahoma State University in health, physical education & recreation, an M.Ed. from Northwestern State University and a B.S. degree from OSU. Prior to joining the OSU faculty, he was a member of the OSU Athletic Department as an Assistant Coach for football and as Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
