April 26, 2012 College of Education Recognizes Top 10 Seniors for 2012 STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State University College of Education has announced its Top 10 Seniors for 2012. The honorees will be recognized at a reception in Willard Hall on May 4.
Jared Jacobs is graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Administration and Operations with a professional pilot option. He is from San Antonio, Texas. Jacobs currently serves as the President of the OSU Flying Aggies, the Captain of the Competitive Flight Team, and is the treasurer for Alpha Eta Rho, of which he was a founding member. Jared has appeared on the Dean’s and President’s Honor Roll, and is also a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
Mihir Kamani is graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Administration and Operations with an aviation management option. He is from Calcutta, West Begnal, India. Kamani has been on the President’s Honor Roll for three consecutive semesters and served as an intern for Omni Air International in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is a member of the OSU chapter for the American Association of Airport Executives, Photography Club and was also a participant in the Student Union Annual Independent Film Festival.
Stephen Murphey is graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Career and Technical Education with a secondary option. He hails from Glenpool, Okla. Murphey is a member of the Airplane Owners and Pilot Association, Phi Theta Kappa, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He serves as Faculty/Staff Council Chair at OSU Institute of Technology and is enrolled in the Honors College at OSU. He has appeared on the President’s Honor Roll multiple times.
Colin Peck is graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She is from Enid, Okla. Peck is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Kappa Kappa Iota, and has served as both secretary and president of Elementary Educators of Tomorrow. She has been on the President’s Honor Roll for seven semesters and is expected to graduate Summa Cum Laude in May.
Angela Haist will graduate this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Promotion with an option in exercise and health and community health education. Haist is from Tulsa, Okla. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Theta Kappa and Golden Key and has volunteered with the American Lung Association and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Haist was recently the recipient of the Pauline Winter Endowed Scholarship, the Randolf Walker Endowed Scholarship, as well as the BlueCross BlueShield of Oklahoma Health Promotions Scholarship.
Tamara Smith is graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation. She is from Tulsa, Okla. Smith is a member of the Therapeutic Recreation Association of Oklahoma, including serving as student representative for the organization. Smith was also president of the Therapeutic Recreation Majors Club as well as the herd manager for the OSU Polo Club and has volunteered her time on mission trips.
Laurel Wilson is graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education Mathematics. A native of Tulsa, Okla., Wilson was selected as an OSU Outstanding Senior and a Top 10 Freshman Woman. She has been involved with Blue Key Honor Society as treasurer, the Student Alumni Board and University Student Honors Council. Wilson received an honors college degree and the Oklahoma Teacher of the Year Endowed Scholarship and the College of Education General Scholarship.
Kyle Womack is graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Promotion with an option in Exercise and Health. Womack is from Yukon, Okla. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and has served as the president of the Health Promotion Club as well as the vice president of Alpha Epsilon Delta, a pre-medical honor society. He has been the recipient of the Pauline Winter Endowed Professional Scholarship, and is recognized as a President’s Distinguished Scholar.
Rachel Wood is graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Wood is from Edmond, Okla. She is a participant in the College of Education ExCEL program, and served as president of Education Student Council following a term as historian. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Alpha Lambda honor societies, and has appeared on the Dean’s and President’s Honor Roll multiple times |
