Research, Evaluation, Measurement and StatisticsThe School of Educational Studies offers both masters and doctoral degrees in Educational Research and Evaluation under the Educational Psychology umbrella. The 36-hour M.S. degree in Educational Research and Evaluation emphasizes program evaluation and prepares students to understand, analyze, and report educational and program data (e.g., test scores, surveys, interview data). For students taking a thesis option, all required coursework for the M.S. degree is offered both in Stillwater and Tulsa; some is available online. The 66-hour Ph.D. in Research and Evaluation provides students with more in-depth study of research and evaluation methods. Doctoral students working with faculty in this program have developed and tested statistics using Monte Carlo simulations. They have developed and evaluated cutting-edge assessment techniques and they evaluate models and methods of program evaluation. Graduates work with testing companies, are university faculty and serve as evaluators. All required coursework for the Ph.D. is offered in Stillwater. Many courses are also taught in Tulsa and others are online. |
