Social FoundationsSocial justice is both at the core of Social Foundations and the strength of our faculty. Here we critically examine educational policy and practice in a variety of settings, looking to a more equitable, peaceful and democratic society and world. We train future educators, educational leaders, policy analysts and academics to understand how social, cultural and ideological forces shape education. We offer courses such as: Diversity and Equity in Education, Religion in Education, History of Women and Education, Subjectivity and Education: From Modernity to Postmodernism, Pop Culture and Education, etc.
