Elementary Education

Completion of the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree qualifies the student for an Oklahoma elementary teaching license (1-8). The program is intended to provide students with:  


(1) a breadth and depth of content knowledge in general education courses, and major content areas for elementary education (i.e., Mathematics, Natural Science, English, and Social Studies),
(2) a breadth and depth of pedagogical knowledge in the teaching of English language arts, mathematics,  science, social studies, the arts, health education, and physical education for grades 1-8, and
(3) diverse field experiences that allow students to demonstrate their ability to work with children.
