School PsychologyThe school psychology program at Oklahoma State University is offered through the School of Applied Health and Educational Psychology within the College of Education. School psychologists are psychologists with specific training for working with children, youth, and adult learners and with families, school staff, and other professionals. Our graduates provide direct services and also serve as liaisons between young people and the adults concerned with their welfare. The program focuses on prevention and intervention to facilitate the healthy functioning of children and youth with a wide range of psychological, social, educational, and mental health needs. The Oklahoma State University school psychology program follows the scientist-practitioner model and confers both the Ph.D. and Ed.S. degrees. The Ph.D. program is APA accredited and NASP approved; it qualifies individuals to pursue licensure as psychologists in order to practice in a broad range of service delivery settings, or to seek academic careers. The Ed.S. program is NASP approved; it is designed primarily for individuals who wish to practice in school settings.
