Student Teaching Abroad


COE has been sending interns abroad since 2003. Almost 200 students have participated in this program. The goals are to expand the personal and professional experience of students, so they can have global perspectives as teachers. Internships are offered in Elementary and Secondary Education and Health and Human Performance for up to 9 credit hours during the last semester of an undergraduate teaching program.

Students are encouraged to apply. See the application schedule. An OSBI background check and OSHA training are required. The application process results are determined by the International Advisory Committee.

Costs vary by destination. Monies available for student teaching abroad include the Provost & Humphreys and Gilman scholarships and possible increased financial aid.
