Financial Aid

The OSU Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid is here to help you locate the financial assistance programs for which you may qualify. More than 80 percent of the students who attend OSU receive some form of financial assistance.  OSU uses a variety of financial assistance programs, including scholarships, grants, work-study, loans or a combination of the four, to help families pay for college. Some awards are based primarily on academic achievement, potential and/or leadership activities and community service. Other programs are based all, or in part, on financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Loan Forgiveness
The Teacher Loan Forgiveness (TLF) Program was created to encourage people to become educators within designated schools that serve low-income families. Teachers with Stafford loans may qualify for loan forgiveness if they meet the program's specific eligibility requirements.

Teach Grant
Through the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program that provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.
In exchange for receiving a TEACH Grant, you must agree to serve as a full-time teacher in a high-need field in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves low-income students.
