Undergraduate Program Requirements
The bachelor’s degree in recreation management/recreational therapy is designed for the student to select one of two options.
- The option in recreational therapy is designed for the student interested in a career
in healthcare. The recreational therapy option prepares the student as a recreational
therapist to provide treatment for individuals in a variety of healthcare environments
to include psychiatric treatment facilities, physical rehabilitation treatment facilities,
acute care hospitals, adult day facilities, long-term care facilities, public schools
and private practice.
- The option in recreation management is designed for the student interested in a career in management and programing. The recreation management option prepares the student as a manager/programmer who operates corporate recreation facilities, corporate intramural programs, university recreation facilities, university intramural programs, sport programs, wellness facilities, parks and recreation, camps, outdoor recreation facilities and resource/facility management of recreation/intramural/sport/parks facilities.
