RMTR Program Presents at State Conference

A contingent of faculty and students from Oklahoma State University’s Recreation Management and Therapeutic Recreation programs participated in the 2015 Oklahoma Parks and Recreation Society’s (ORPS) 59th annual conference in Tulsa, Okla., November 4-6.
Recreation Management and Therapeutic Recreation (RMTR) assistant professor Dr. Taryn Price and Nicole Been, a leisure studies doctoral student, presented “Tinkertoys of Leadership.” Adjunct professor Dr. Emily McKenzie presented “Creating a Challenge Course Experience without a Challenge Course.”
Curtis Clemens, Dongwook Cho and Steve Beck, doctoral students in leisure studies, also presented. Clemens’ presentation was entitled "Recreation with Teens at Risk." Cho presented on “Pressing Issues and Our Future in Leisure”. Beck presented "Putting Positive Youth Development inot Recreation Programming."
In addition, Been has recently been elected as the Executive Director of ORPS.
