OSU Writing Project to Host Teen Writers’ Camp June 21-24

The OSU Writing Project is offering a Teen Writers’ Camp focused on songwriting June 21-24. The camp is open to teens in grades 7 -12 and runs from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. with a recital on the final day.
The workshop will focus on moving songwriting skills forward for participants through myriad experiences, including visits from special guest songwriters. No instrument or musical proficiency is required.
Chris Goering will serve as the instructor for the camp. Goering is a professor, teacher and singer-songwriter from Fayetteville, Ark. His music fits the genre of Americana with influences from country rock, alternative, and red dirt country. His 2016 EP Big Engine and 2009 LP Where He’s Going are available to stream or purchase at CDBaby, Spotify, Amazon and iTunes. Goering’s background as a high school and college writing teacher is combined with experiences writing and performing songs.
The deadline to register for camp is June 10. The cost to attend is $95.
