Choctaw Nation Summer Interns Recognized

College of Education students who completed summer internships with the Choctaw Nation were recognized recently during a reception and showcase of their experiences. President Hargis attended the event and welcomed special guests.
Fourteen College of Education students completed the Partnership of Summer School Education Program (POSSE) internship in Durant and received certificates of participation.
Student interns who were recognized include Mackenna Adams, Emily Baden, Jennifer Dixon, Addi Freiner, Shelbi Gambrell, Amanda Manville, Mallory Mattingly, Marissa Moore, Shelbee Neal, Sayre Ogle, Abby Parrent, Chloe Severson, Megan Skelly and Hannah Stumpff.
The College welcomed for the reception Choctaw officials Paula Harp (Senior Director of Education), Larry Scott (POSSE Director), Jackie Barr (POSSE Assistant Director) and Todd Hughes (Education IT Specialist), as well as Durant Public Schools Superintendent Duane Merideth and Washington Irving Elementary School Principal Lisa Whitley.
The project was also supported by the OSU Center for Sovereign Nations and director Elizabeth Payne and coordinator Sky Rogers represented the center at the reception.
