Gambrell named OSU Top 10 Freshman Woman

Top 10 Freshman, Shelbi GambrellShelbi Gambrell, an elementary education major from Shawnee, Okla., was named a Top 10 Freshman woman by the Oklahoma State University Achafoa Chapter of Mortar Board. Gambrell was recognized at the OSU-Iowa State football game October 8, 2016.

Gambrell is a student of the Honors College, was accepted into Phi Eta Sigma honor society and was appointed by the College of Education Dean to the Professional Education Council. She has served OSU’s Student Government Association on the freshman representative council, as the COE senate representative and as the vice president’s intern. Gambrell is also involved with Student Alumni Board, Chi Omega Fraternity, Education Student Council, CowboyThon and Homecoming. She served the community as a freshman through more than 140 hours of service mainly with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Helping Hands and Meal Plans, and United We Send.

Students who received this honor were selected based on scholarship, community service, campus involvement and leadership during their freshmen year.
