English Education Senior Lauren Nelson Wins State Award

Lauren Nelson, Oklahoma State University senior in English education and student teacher at Guthrie High School, was one of 12 winners to receive the Geraldine Burns Award from the Oklahoma Council of Teachers of English.
Of the 2,200 teachers graduating from Oklahoma universities in 2017, institutions of higher education nominated the best English teacher in their program. The Geraldine Burns Award is given to excellent teacher interns, and all winners receive free membership in OKCTE, and admission and the opportunity to speak at the fall conference.
