Oklahoma State University Co-Hosts Data-Based Conferences

Tuesday, December 12, 2017

Oklahoma State University collaborated with Data-Based Conferences to bring a version of its annual Multi-Tier Systems of Support/Response to Intervention (MTSS/RTI) to Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education, the Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration and the University of Oklahoma were also in collaboration with Data-Based Conferences to help make it a success.

This two-day conference took place November 15-16, 2017 in Oklahoma City and focused on implementing ways to allow general education and special education to work together. Attendees learned research-based behavior support strategies as well as strategies for including students with severe disabilities.

The conference was a huge success and sold out every seat. Dr. Gary Duhon, Associate Professor in the OSU College of Education, Health and Aviation and Director of Training Ph.D. Program for School Psychology, was one of many educators to attend the event.

“The conference was well attended by more than 300 Oklahoma educators and represented 65 different districts,” Duhon said. “Because of the number of people not able to attend due to limited space, sponsors plan to bring back the conference next year.”
