Online Training Programs for Supporting Foster Youth and Alumni
Tuesday, March 6, 2018
R is for Thursday (R4T) Network of Oklahoma is offering free training to individuals interested in preparing foster youth for the next step in their education and supporting those who are already in college. Training is currently targeted to four distinct populations: Oklahoma foster youth (age 18 or older) and foster alumni, Oklahoma high school personnel, Oklahoma higher education professionals and supportive adults.
As an Oklahoma-based research-to-practice, practice-to-research initiative, R4T is designed to equip individuals to support college-bound foster youth and foster alumni attending Oklahoma colleges and universities. This is accomplished through collaborative partnerships with high school and community professionals, foster alumni students and graduates, state and federal entities and higher education campuses across the state.
The R4T training opportunity is free of charge until July 1, 2018. Additional information can be found online at https://education.okstate.edu/risforthursday/online_training. Interested participants are also encouraged to watch the “I Speak R4T” promotional video. Questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
