Grad Students’ Work Highlighted in Professional Development Opportunity from State Department

OSU College of Education graduate students and classroom teachers Moriah Widener and DeAnne Finley are featured in the first elementary math Professional Development on Your Plan offered on the Oklahoma State Department of Education website. Widener and Finley presented their work on “From Drab to Fab” during coursework for the Oklahoma Elementary Math Specialist certification at OSU.
In addition to the certification, Widener is pursuing a Master’s in Teaching Learning and Leadership, option in mathematics at Oklahoma State. Widener also earned a B.S. in elementary education in 2007 at OSU. Finley earned a master’s in educational leadership studies at OSU in 2006.
Widener teaches fifth grade math and science at Jenks West Intermediate. Finley is a math literacy specialist at Roy Clark Elementary in Union Public Schools.
