OSUTeach New Faculty

As OSUTeach launched on the Stillwater campus during the fall semester, the College of Education added two new faculty members to work with future science and mathematics teachers. Amy Olson and John Weaver serve as clinical instructors and master teachers in the College of Education’s School of Teaching and Curriculum Leadership.

 

AMY OLSON
Clinical Instructor and Science Master Teacher, OSUTeach
M.A. Secondary Science Curriculum and Development, University of Colorado - Denver

Previously a secondary science education teacher at Arvada West High School, Denver, Colorado.

JOHN WEAVER

Previously a special and traditional mathematics teacher for Stillwater Public Schools

 

"John Weaver comes to us from Stillwater High School where he taught mathematics and worked to help special education students be successful in their mathematics courses.  His experience teaching high school mathematics and knowledge of local schools will make John an asset to promoting and recruiting for the new OSUTeach program."

OSUTeach is a collaboration between the College of Education and the College of Arts and Sciences in which program participants earn a degree in biological science, chemistry, geology, mathematics or physics and complete requirements for secondary teacher certification in four years. Students have the opportunity to try out teaching with two one-hour introductory courses and receive a $125 scholarship upon completion.  To learn more about OSUTeach, visit http://osuteach.okstate.edu.
