EDUCATION STUDENT SERVICES
Dr. John S. C. Romans is the Dean for the College of Education. He holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas, a Masters degree in Counseling from the University of Iowa, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Iowa State University. He is a Professor in the Counseling and Counseling Psychology program area, and he has previously served as Interim Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, Outreach and Research and as Head of the School of Applied Health and Educational Psychology. He has served in a variety of other administrative roles during his tenure at OSU including Counseling Area Coordinator, Associate School Head, and Associate Dean. His research activities are currently centered around the Building Resilient Communities project. He serves as the team leader for this interdisciplinary group of faculty, students and community members tackling challenges facing high need communities. Dr. Romans' other research interests include stalking and interpersonal violence, and college student counseling interventions.
