Workforce and Adult Education Graduate Degrees
Master of Science Degree
The Workforce and Adult Education (WAED) program area offers a Masters in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership (TLL) with an option in WAED. This degree can be completed with either a coursework/thesis (research) option or a coursework/creative component (project) option and includes a minimum of 36 hours for completion. Students may select an area of emphasis to study in the field of adult education, teaching, training, career and technical administration or other related workforce and adult education field. The Doctorate is a Ph.D. in Education with an option in WAED. The WAED Ph.D. program is recognized for its excellence and is currently ranked as #6 in the nation in this field. The WAED Ph.D. program is research-intensive and all students are guided to participate in conference presentations and publications in relevant professional journals. The WAED Ph.D. faculty have research expertise and interests in a broad range of topics and methodologies that can develop and facilitate individual students’ personal research interests. Coursework is available to develop appropriate expertise in design and delivery of instruction, use of technology and online learning, curriculum development, program administration, educational theory and philosophy, and research. Minimum number of hours for degree completion is 71, with 15 of these hours in the doctoral dissertation.
