Brenda Gandy
Brenda S. Gandy earned her BS from Oklahoma State University in Human Environmental Sciences majoring in Family Relationships and Child Development with a focus in the Community Service followed by the completion of a Masters in Human Relations at the University of Oklahoma. She has extensive training in prevention and relationship enhancement, effective communication, problem solving and conflict management.  She has been with OCES since 1990. Gandy has provided Family and Consumer Science and 4-H Youth Development program leadership in Garfield County for fourteen years before moving to Stephens County in 2004. Brenda has served 10 years in the Stephens County Extension Office.  Brenda’s areas of expertise are Family Finance, Nutrition, Hunger, Health and Wellness.


Brenda has worked extensively in the following programs:

  • Oklahoma Home & Community Education
  • Making Sense of Money Management
  • Stepping to a Healthier You! Dance Exercise class
  • Co-Parenting Through Divorce – parent education
  • Oklahoma Marriage Initiative
  • Community Nutrition Education Program

Brenda enjoys working with groups and individuals of all ages. Brenda provides a variety of basic training classes in sewing, quilting, shopping and planning nutritious home cooked meals and home food preservation. Brenda’s passion for family combined with the Extension mission of strengthening families by providing education based on current information and research developed through the land –grant university system has been an exciting joint venture enriching her own life as well as the lives of those who participate in her programs.
