PEU Assessment Across Programs

Initial Programs' Common Assessments

Candidates in initial certification programs are assessed according to national and State
standards as well as proficiencies in the OSU Professional Education Conceptual
Framework (LEADS).

Professional Portfolio - This is a State requirement for teacher certification in Oklahoma.
Specifically, portfolios must:

  • be evaluated at three checkpoints:
    1. Application for Admission to Professional Education. Students should begin these
processes with the first professional education course taken.
    2. Prior to placement for student teaching.
    3. At the point of recommendation for certification (completed during student teaching
semester and submitted before OSU can recommend for certification).
  • focus on INTASC, the Oklahoma General Competencies for Teacher Certification and
Licensure, and the OSU LEADS core values at the initial level and assessed by a common
    rubric across all programs
  • be submitted electronically through the adopted content management system with
assessment data collected in the OSU PEU assessment system.
