Sexual Health Research Lab
Advancing the health of our communities
in Oklahoma and beyond
We are a collaborative group of scholars from a variety of disciplines working to
advance sexual health and address sexuality-related health disparities. Recognizing the need to grow the
next generation of sexual health scholars and practitioners, our lab offers opportunities
for students to foster and apply research skills specific to sexuality research.

Investing in the future
through relevant and impactful research
From HIV and STI care continuums to LGBT health and sexual consent messaging, our
research projects focus on vulnerable and minority populations from diverse socio-cultural
backgrounds, including rural and underserved areas.
Engaging partners
To adapt collaborative solutions
We actively explore how academic-community partnerships can be successfully utilized
to tackle the various complex public health concerns impacting projects and understudied
populations. These partnerships can help bring health providers together to develop
integrated models of care to address sexual health concerns. Creating healthier communities
and overcoming structural problems require collaborative solutions, which bring communities
and institutions together as equal partners.
