You are on the EHA Student Council executive team. Tell us more about this leadership opportunity.

I serve as the historian/PR chairman for EHA Student Council! I’m in charge of our social media accounts as well as record keeping. I also helped design our official seal that’s now used for important documents and official announcements. Overall, I love being able to work so closely with the council and make an impact as a leader on the team. I’ve made great connections with students in other majors.

What have you learned from the experience?

I have learned what it takes to work as a leader and with a team. In addition to working with my fraternity, Phi Kappa Sigma, I’ve learned how to delegate tasks and responsibilities. I’ve also learned balance is extremely important! A lot of people are looking to you for leadership and guidance, and it’s imperative to not only keep your word, but to be the best leader you can be. I’ve learned that being in a leadership position means you work for the people, not yourself.

You also served as a New Student Orientation leader this past summer. What was that like?

Meeting incoming students was both exhilarating and terrifying. Often, I was the first person these students met, and I wanted to be sure they had a positive first impression of OSU. It was incredible to give back to other students and make their experience even better than mine was.  I loved getting to share my OSU story! I’m hopeful and excited to return next year.

What do you love most about OSU?

Oklahoma State has such a family atmosphere. When we say that we are a “Cowboy Family,” we truly mean it. We are always there for each other and that bond lasts even after we graduate. The connections you make here will last a lifetime.
