4 +1 Accelerated Master’s Program in Applied Human Services
Who is eligible?
Students pursuing the child and family services bachelor’s degree at OSU have the option to complete an accelerated master’s degree in applied human
services. In addition to earning a bachelor’s degree, students can also finish a master’s
in just one extra year.
When to apply:
To apply early for the master’s in applied human services, students must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Science and complete 90 or more credit hours toward the bachelor’s degree.
Program admission:
Students interested in pursuing the accelerated master’s program must apply during the final semester of the junior year, or in the semester the student will complete 90 credit hours.
Candidates for the accelerated master’s program should must receive clearance from their academic advisor to apply to the program.
After receiving clearance, submit your application to the OSU Graduate College.
You will need to include the following:
- Official transcripts with a minimum 3.0 GPA on coursework completed at OSU
- Three letters of professional recommendation
- Statement of goals and objectives
- Vita or resume
Concurrent enrollment:
After receiving clearance, students may enroll concurrently in graduate level coursework
toward the master’s degree. Students maintain undergraduate classification until completing
the bachelor’s degree and receiving full admission to the OSU Graduate College.
All graduate coursework taken as a senior and intended to be used toward the master’s degree must be approved by the program coordinator. Graduate coursework may not exceed six hours per semester during the student’s senior year.
