Detecting and preventing cardiometabolic risk
We study ways in which diet, physical activity and aging modify one’s risk for common cardiometabolic conditions. Our lab focuses on detecting and mitigating risks for common and costly conditions including:
- Heart disease
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Stroke
- Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
- Metabolic syndrome
- Dyslipidemia
Technology and capabilities
- Doppler ultrasound
- DEXA body composition analysis
- Bioelectrical impedance analysis
- Accelerometry/physical activity tracking
- Phlebotomy/blood collection
- Metabolic risk factor panels
- Resting metabolic rate
- Maximal aerobic exercise (VO2max) testing
