Global competencies are the “soft skills” that employers are seeking in today’s competitive job markets. All of our Study Abroad courses are designed to foster personal growth by helping students better understanding themselves within the context of different cultures, natural environments, and academic or professional surroundings. Pre-and post- travel assessments help our students evaluate their global skill sets, create goals for personal growth, and then practice their developing global competencies while traveling abroad. Upon their return to OSU, students’ global competencies are measured and compared to pre-travel scores, creating a unique opportunity for personal reflection and future goal setting. Contact our International Programs Coordinator with questions about Global Competencies.
