Pistol Pete at the OSU Flight CenterAero Exploration Day, hosted by the OSU College of Education and Human Sciences, gives student teams the chance to demonstrate their skills through challenges based on AOPA curriculum. The highest-performing teams will move on to a Case Study Challenge, where they will analyze, present and solve real-world aviation scenarios. Participants will also tour OSU’s advanced aviation facilities, connect with current aviation students, and have the opportunity to earn scholarships, awards and the distinguished State Champion Team title.

NEW FOR 2026: First-Year Competition
The Aero Exploration Day First-Year Competition is an individual event designed to test students’ knowledge of aviation signs, markings, and career pathways. This competition is open only to students in their first year of AOPA instruction. Students who compete in the First-Year Competition are not eligible for the Team Competition. Each school may enter up to two students.
