Research Interests:

I'm interested in researching the impact that social media has on classroom climate.

Current Status/ Year in the Program:

2nd Year Doctoral Student

Research Interests:

I am interested in how motivation influences student learning in the classroom and measures teachers can use to influence this motivation inside and outside of the classroom.

Other Interests:

Outside of school I am interested in most sports, especially OSU and Thunder related. I enjoy being outdoors as much as possible. Now, most of my free time is spent with my wife and 1 year old daughter.

Research interests:

I am interested in teacher characteristics (e.g. sense of responsibility, burnout, efficacy, social perspective taking).

Other interests:

Stage managing in community theatre, attending EPSS social events and watching as much Netflix as possible!

Research Interests:

I am interested in academic motivation, positive mindset, sociocultural perspective, and comparative research.  

Other Interests:

I also enjoy swimming and traveling.

Research interests:

I am interested in online educational practices and outcomes, program implementation, special education and gifted education, assessment, and organizational change in educational institutions.

Other interests:

Spending time with my wife and son, gardening, weightlifting, science fiction and comic media

3rd Year Doctoral Student

Research Interests:

My research interests include social cognition, motivation, attribution, and how these theories affect college and career readiness in adolescents.

Other Interests:

I enjoy hanging with my three dogs, looking for stray dogs, being outdoors with my dogs, reading to my dogs, watching television and documentaries with my dogs, sneaking into movies with my dogs, and stuff with friends and family or whatever.

2nd Year Doctoral Student

Research Interests: 

My current research interests include working with “at risk” youth, motivational and environmental aspects of education, classroom management, behavior modification, and mentoring of pre-service teachers.

Other Interests: 

In my free time I enjoy ultimate Frisbee, scuba diving, solving math problems for fun, and hanging out with friends. My ultimate professional goal is to receive my PhD and to become an influential leader and researcher in education. My dream job is to become a school superintendent.

Research interests:

I am interested in adolescent development, motivation, teacher-student and peer relationships, teaching practices, classroom context, and academic achievement.

Other interests:

Family time, playing with my son, music, and traveling.

2nd Year Doctoral Student

Research Interests:

My current research interests include motivation in students affected by trauma and how teachers working with this population view their self-efficacy.

Other Interests:

Reading memoir and literary fiction, watching a great indie film at Circle Cinema, and spending time with my daughter.
