Program for Learning, Adjustment and Connection Excellence

Find your P.L.A.C.E.

Designed specifically for first-year students with majors in the College of Education and Human Sciences, P.L.A.C.E. provides you with personal and academic strategies and experiences to learn, adjust and connect during your time at OSU and beyond.

Connections for life

Participants develop friendships with peers in the same or similar classes even before the school year begins. You will connect with the community through volunteer and service experiences, build meaningful relationships with faculty and staff outside the classroom and access support resources needed to succeed. Ambassador peer mentors serve as program leaders and facilitators, helping you navigate early college experiences by answering questions and providing advice from a student perspective.

A P.L.A.C.E. to call home

Students have the option to live with other members and ambassador peer mentors in our college’s living-learning program (LLP) on the third floor of University Commons West. Living in the LLP offers a sense of community, and builds on the mentoring, academic support, leadership connections and opportunities the program offers.

Get Involved

Applications for the living-learning program are accepted beginning October 1 through your OSU application portal under the housing tab. Space is available for 60 first-year residents, and selection begins in February and runs through May, or until space is filled.

"This program is a great P.L.A.C.E. to grow and succeed in college alongside peers that support you and encourage you to go out of your comfort zone. It is a caring environment and truly a family I have loved being a part of during my time at OSU."
