Goals, Objectives and Outcomes
Goals, objectives, and outcomes at this stage of the process are based on the following assumptions:
- Equity and inclusion efforts will be institutionalized within the mainframe for CEHS. Subsequently, these efforts are not localized, but intended to extend across the entire social, political, and educational fabric of CEHS.
- The goals, objectives, and outcomes will be based on the development of an equity and inclusion infrastructure for faculty, staff, and students.
- The initial development of this infrastructure is designed to establish long term success over the next 3-5 years.
Goals
CEHS will build an infrastructure by which the following will be achieved:
- Resources will be instituted for the development, advancement, and furthering of equity and inclusion policies, practices, programs, and initiatives across the College of Education and Human Sciences.
- CEHS will foster strategic thinking and planning on equity and inclusion efforts via the collection of data through surveys, intergroup dialogues, focus groups, and one-on-one meetings across the College.
- E&I strategic plan will be developed that will inform equity and inclusion efforts across CEHS.
- Interdisciplinary learning environment will be established, by which different academic units work across and between their disciplines to generate equity-oriented scholarship/research, teaching and learning, and community engaged advocacy.
- CEHS will foster a pedagogical environment of inclusivity to promote student engagement, development, and success.
Objectives
- to provide a resource infrastructure to support faculty, staff, and students in equity and inclusion efforts.
- to support faculty and students in scholarship/research, teaching and learning, and community-engaged opportunities for creative, interdisciplinary knowledge production.
- to expand recruitment and retention practices, where diverse populations are offered increased learning opportunities about CEHS.
- to develop policies and practices to ensure equitable protection of all faculty, staff, and students.
- to diversify, retain, and matriculate undergraduate and graduate students.
Outcomes
- Increase the number of faculty who generate and share data to support the improvement of local, regional, and national, underserved communities.
- Increase the number of programs, initiatives, and networks to cultivate an environment where recruitment and retention efforts toward diverse populations can be expanded.
- Build capacity amongst faculty, staff, and students for increased knowledge and awareness about equity and inclusion.
- Synergize E&I efforts to build continuity across all academic units within the College.
- Produce globally diverse citizens, prepared to think critically and conscientiously of the world around them to solve pressing challenges in schools, communities, and the larger society.
