Course Curriculum
BSN Program Requirements
Students will complete 59 hours of prerequisite coursework early in the degree plan,
which includes a combination of classroom, laboratory, simulation and clinical experiences. In the semester prior to completing prerequisite coursework, students will submit a competitive secondary application to continue professional coursework, which includes laboratories, simulations and clinical experiences, toward a nursing degree.

**The requirement for (I) and (D) designated courses can be met through certain Humanities courses with those designations.
Prospective/current students may be admitted or change their major to the nursing major in accordance with OSU and the College of Education and Human Sciences admission requirements. However, admission to the professional nursing program, which is required to complete the Nursing (BSN) degree, is not guaranteed and will be competitively determined by a scoring rubric based upon the following requirements as well as available openings. Applicants to the professional nursing program must have:

- Good academic standing as a current OSU student or meet requirements for undergraduate admission to Oklahoma State University.
- Submitted all current college transcripts to OSU.
- Minimum score of 75 on the HESI A2 exam. Topic areas include English Language (reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary and general knowledge), Basic Math Skills, Anatomy and Physiology, and Critical Thinking.
- Minimum of a “C” or better in all required science courses.
- Paid the appropriate fees.
- All applicants for whom English is not their primary language must meet OSU’s TOEFL iBT admission requirements prior to applying to the Nursing Program.
- Previous healthcare work or volunteer experience is preferred.
