Nurse Empowerment Series
The Nurse Empowerment Series includes four micro-credential courses designed for nurses
to learn essential business and leadership skills, preparing them for leadership roles
and advance in their careers.
Open to any nurse, regardless of nursing education or licensure (LPN, RN, ADN, BSN,
MSN, DNP, PhD), the courses are offered as a non-credit track in the OSU Nursing Leadership Program. Courses are delivered in a hybrid format, through both online and in-person experiential
learning opportunities that foster networking with peers.
Courses are designed to be completed in the order listed below. Students should enroll in courses 1 and 2 at the same time as they have a combined, in-person learning day (Fall 2025 Date: September 23).
Courses
1. Nursing Leadership in U.S. Health Care Delivery
The first of four micro-credentials in the Nursing Empowerment Series, U.S. Health Care Delivery is an introduction to familiarize nurses with general topics related to leadership initiatives in the U.S. health care delivery system.
2. Administrative Nursing Leadership
The second of four micro-credentials, Administrative Nursing Leadership covers general topics related to current administrative leadership in health care.
3. Nursing Leadership in Health Care Employee Management
Health Care Employee Management is the third micro-credential in the series. The course familiarizes nurses with current health care employee management issues.
4. Nursing Leadership in Health Care Fiscal Management
The fourth micro-credential an introduction on leadership principles of fiscal management
in health care.
