This year has been a whirlwind of activities for our students. Last November, students traveled to Nashville to the exhibition “Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones” which included 25 performance garments worn by Dolly Parton. The students were able to meet one of Dolly’s former head patternmakers and had a special master class in how darts are used in shaping garments and how to set rhinestones. This year also was the launch of our pioneering Online 3D Digital Product Development Certificate, the first of its kind in the nation. Crafted in collaboration with industry leaders, this certificate promises to revolutionize the way we approach fashion design and production, setting new standards of excellence in the field.
Tonight, we celebrate not only the boundless creativity of our students but also the spirit of collaboration and innovation that defines our institution. So, sit back, relax, and prepare to be captivated by the magic of fashion as we embark on this unforgettable journey together.
Let the runway unfold, and let our imaginations soar as we embrace the future of fashion, one breathtaking design at a time. Welcome to the Euphoria Fashion Show—where dreams become runway reality! As always, Go Pokes!
Message from Show Director Diane Limbaugh
Welcome to Euphoria 2024! We are so glad to bring you this wonderful event again this year from the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center. This is our 13th of celebrating Euphoria Fashion Show in person.
I’ve had the privilege of directing the fashion show for the past 12 years and each
year brings something new and exciting.

The Euphoria Fashion Show gives students a real-life experience in producing a high-caliber event, and I look forward each year to help guide these students through planning this event. The Fashion show course teaches students the many components that are involved in producing a major event. The students learn how to meet deadlines, improve their communications skills and to be flexible or willing to change at a moment’s notice, all good skills to have for any future career. This year, an executive committee has provided leadership to to the planning process, serving as executive producers of the fashion show.
The apparel design and technology students have been learning how to design garments in 3D by using industry software, Browzwear’s V-stitcher, to help in the design and fit of their garments. For the students, it is exciting to see their designs in 3D before they construct the actual garment. This allows them to make design and fitting changes before actually cutting the garment out in fabric. The students also have the ability to use our body scanner to scan their models scanned and create avatars so that they can design and fit directly to their model, even when the model is not available for a fitting. The use of 3D helps to eliminate extra sample fittings and reduces the waste of time and material. These skills are in high demand within the apparel industry and our juniors and seniors will graduate with a skill set that few others will have, making them highly marketable.
It is always so rewarding to see students grow and mature into amazing designers and merchandisers, young professionals ready to take the next step. My favorite moment is seeing the look on the students’ faces once the fashion show is over. The progression over the course of the semester from a look of frustration and exhaustion to one of amazement and accomplishment is what I like most about teaching at OSU. Enjoy the show!
History
Sixteen years ago, the Department of Design and Merchandising began showcasing our senior designers and their work with models walking down the hallways of our department. After a couple of years, the need for a bigger showcase event became obvious. Students chose the name Euphoria, which means "a feeling or state of intense excitement and happiness." The showcase moved from the department hallways to an outside tent, giving the feeling of a real New York City fashion show. But a tent in Oklahoma in April? We battled the wind, rain, storms and 32-degree weather before finally moving the show back indoors. The fashion show has been held in several locations across campus but has found a home at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center.
- About Tonight's Show
Euphoria is a high-energy, runway fashion show produced by students from the Department of Design and Merchandising (DM) in the college of Education and Human Sciences.
This is our 13th year for Euphoria, and fashion design and merchandising students have worked hard to bring to you an exciting fashion show featuring student creations. This year’s show is produced and directed by eighteen design and merchandising students in the fashion show production class. It will showcase the collections of five very talented seniors. This course it taught by Professor Diane Limbaugh.
Throughout the evening you will see garments produced by thirtteen designers in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of study at OSU. All the garments featured in the show have been designed, produced and created by students as class assignment or extracurricular projects.
This year, the degree name changed to Apparel Design and Technology, to incorporate a very important skill set for the apparel industry. Several of the garments you will see tonight feature the use of 3D Digital creation. The backgrounds for the virtual fashion show were created by Interior Design students in DM 3173: Digital Design Communication class.
Judges
- Katie Corley
Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, I started my modeling career when I was 12 years old. My first runway show was for Charlotte Russe. I continued on with small print gigs and runway shows until college, where I completed my degree with OSU in the design, housing, and merchandising program. From there, I walked in the first Euphoria Fashion show, which lit a fire under me again for more modeling work.
I was then offered to work with a modeling agency in Oklahoma City, worked with project runway as a print model, modeled fashion wear for a designer from Paris, France, and have had a huge spread in the 15th addition of Oklahoma’s Wedding magazine in 2021. I have worked with numerous photographers from around the country, demonstrating every team's creativity and love for the world of fashion. I am so excited and honored to have been asked to join the OSU Euphoria Fashion team for the second year.

- Claire Kennedy
In the early 1980s, amidst the depths of a staggering economy, I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey—despite warnings that it wasn't the opportune moment. Thankfully, I forged ahead, driven by necessity to turn a profit from day one. For three decades, I reveled in this pursuit. Yet, a pivotal moment dawned upon me one day in my studio, pondering what garment to craft for an upcoming event. The luxury of handpicking and designing my attire struck me profoundly. While others scoured stores or websites for passable options, I could effortlessly conjure something from my stash or the local fabric emporium. I realized the privilege I'd embraced. It dawned on me then that not only was I fortunate, but I possessed the means to share this blessing. My mentor, Erma, had imparted her wisdom, granting me the skills I now cherished. It was time to pay it forward—to embark on teaching others the art I held dear.
