- How do I know if Prospective Student Day is right for me?Are you a high school student with intellectual or developmental disability who is interested in going to college? Are you the parent or supporter of a high school student with intellectual or developmental disability who is interested in going to college? Are you an educator with students who do or will meet OOS requirements upon graduation? Do you want to learn more about OOS and if we would be a good fit for you or your student? - Why should I come to Prospective Student Day?Prospective Student Day is an excellent opportunity to learn more about Opportunity Orange Scholars and to see if we are a good fit for you! Additionally, this is a great opportunity to network with other students, parents, educators, and supporters, and an opportunity for our OOS staff to get to know you better before you submit your application.
- Which should I pick: taking a tour or attending Prospective Student Day? We encourage any prospective student, family member, supporter, or educator who is interested in learning more about OOS to attend our Prospective Student Day if they are able. PSD will include a more robust look at our program with greater interactions with OOS students and staff than our tours provide. If you are looking for a more 1-on-1 or private experience with our program, a tour may be a best fit for you with a small group campus tour and informational session led by an OOS staff member.
- What will I do on Prospective Student Day? Prospective Student Day will include of a walking tour of OSU’s campus highlighting major buildings including our OOS offices, the Student Union, the Library, classroom buildings, the Colvin, and the dorms. It will also include a presentation from OOS staff members to discuss the program in detail as well as walk through the application process. Additionally, we will host a student panel of current Opportunity Orange Scholars and OOS Student Employee Partners to answer your questions about being a part of the program. We will conclude with an opportunity for everyone to ask and have answered any questions they may still have regarding the program.
- When is Prospective Student Day? Prospective Student Day happens every year in early October around the time that the OOS application opens. In 2025, Prospective Student Day will happen on Friday, October 1st.
- Can I show up for Prospective Student Day day-of, or do I need to register?Registration is required in order to attend Prospective Student Day. Please click the orange Register button above to register for Prospective Student Day!
- How do I find OOS on campus?
We are located in the Nancy Randolph Davis building room 018. For PDS, we will be located in Jorns Hall, which is on the first floor of Nancy Randolph Davis.
- If you are driving into Stillwater from I-35, you’ll enter on Highway 51. Continue on Highway 51 and turn left on Washington Street. Turn Right on Farm Road. Turn Right on Cleveland Street and then Left on Drummond Ave. Drive until you are at the orange arrow in the graphic below and look for an OOS staff member for next directions.
- If you are driving into Stillwater from the Kilpatrick Turnpike, take exit 20A to enter Stillwater and continue straight on Washington Street. Just after the intersection of Washington and Lakeview, take a slight right to continue on Washington Street. Turn right on Hall of Fame Avenue, left on Cleveland Street, and then Left on Drummond Ave. Drive until you are at the orange arrow in the graphic below and look for an OOS staff member for next directions.
- Where do I find specific information about this year’s Prospective Student Day? (Ex:
