Puebla Study Abroad: Global Perspectives on Learning
This study abroad program will take place in Puebla, Mexico—a country of origin for a significant number of English language learners our teacher education students are likely to encounter in their future classrooms. This course explores social justice on both a local and international scale through an examination of psychological principles of learning and motivation. This program offers teacher education students to learn about learning, as well as, a fundamental understanding of motivation in educational contexts within the context of a global perspective. While abroad you get to experience cultural visits throughout Puebla, Cholula and Mexico City. You will develop an understanding of foundational principles of learning, motivation, and a global identity; critically analyze contemporary cultures; and apply learning in addressing a global issue of social justice. This course also satisfies a requirement for Certification in Learning and Motivation.
