Teacher Shortage Employment Incentive Program (TSEIP)

TSEIP was designed to recruit and retain mathematics and science teachers in Oklahoma. By signing up, upon completion of the fifth consecutive year of teaching secondary mathematics or science in Oklahoma public schools, participants will have the option to be reimbursed eligible student loan expenses (a set amount, which may vary yearly) or an equivalent cash benefit.

Eligible Loan Programs

The following student loan programs are eligible for TSEIP reimbursement:

  • Stafford Student Loans/Guaranteed Student Loans
  • Perkins/National Direct Student Loans
  • Loans made pursuant to the federal Supplemental Loans for Students program, including CLAS
  • Consolidation Loan Program loans
  • Privately funded educational loans issued to students through colleges or universities

NOTE: Parent Loans for Students (PLUS) are not eligible.

Students who participate in TSEIP and meet all the eligibility requirements but do not have outstanding loan obligations will receive a cash payment after their five years of teaching.

How to Participate

To participate, students must fill out the TSEIP Participation Agreement Form and submit it no later than the date of their graduation. SPECIAL NOTE: Applicants cannot be certified to teach math or science prior to signing the Participation Agreement Form.

Before submitting the agreement form, please make sure that you have carefully reviewed the entire application and completed the required fields. Please do NOT email your application. To successfully submit your application, visit our secure application portal. You will be prompted to sign in with your O-Key account. Once logged in, you will have the option to upload your application as an RTF file (.rtf, .odt. .pdf) or MS Word file (.doc, .docx).

After submission and approval of your application, the OSU program coordinator will complete the TSEIP coordinator section on page 2 and upload your application to a secure OSRHE database for processing. If you prefer to submit a physical copy of the application, please see Dillon Graham in Willard 325M.

The State Regents office will notify applicants of application receipt, educational loan obligations and any qualifying disbursement benefit opportunities through TSEIP.
