Student Teacher Supervisors

 

Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of educators? We are seeking experienced educators to serve as Student Teacher Supervisors! In this vital role, you'll act as a bridge between the OSU Office of Educator Support, Partner Schools, Mentor Teachers, and our program candidates. 

 

University supervisors will be compensated $500 per teacher candidate they work with. Training will be provided via Zoom at the beginning of each semester. 


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a minimum of one in-person visit at school site.
  • Hold regular Zoom meetings with candidates.
  • Conduct at least three observations remotely with the "GoReact" video tool; training provided.
  • Provide detailed feedback and recommendations after each observation.
  • Engage in two or more three-way Zoom conferences with candidates and mentor teachers.
  • Collaborate to determine mid-term and final evaluation scores.
  • Discuss planning, learning strategies, and classroom management with candidates.
  • Facilitate discussions about candidate's goals and areas for growth

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years PK-12 teaching experience 
  • Teaching Certification in one or more subject areas
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate candidate and mentor teacher 
    • (must not be a current full-time PK-12 school employee*)
  • Knowledge of educational best practices and teaching methodologies
