Professional Development and Resources
We serve educators, schools and districts by providing resources to improve the teaching and learning of writing in Oklahoma classrooms. The approach is strategic, grounded in inquiry and research-based practices related to establishing a long-term professional development community. The majority of our time is spent off-campus, supporting teachers through co-teaching initiatives, mentoring programs and professional development activities.
Meeting Your Needs
Our teacher consultants design adaptable, classroom-ready resources to meet your needs. We are confident in these resources because we use them ourselves in our own classrooms. We can help connect you to resources you need, such as:
- Tools to teach writing in different content areas
- Ways to improve timed writing and writing from prompts, such as state tests and Advanced Placement (AP) testing
- Opportunities to help students find their voices as they write different genres for personal and academic writing
Current Projects
We rely heavily on grant funding to support our work. Here’s a look at some of our current projects:
- “Writing the Past, Changing the Future: A Century of Learning the 1921 Race Massacre”
- Teaching about the Tulsa Race Massacre
- Military-connected resources for teachers
- Teaching Grammar in-Context
