Convergence
This community visioning workshop, hosted in fall 2018, focused on sustainable practices for mixed-use, community-based dementia programs and services. The event was sponsored by the American Society of Interior Designers Foundation. Stakeholders from across Oklahoma came together to discuss opportunities to rethink dementia care in our state, nationally and internationally.

Student Design Charrette
Prior to Convergence, we hosted a three-day workshop with five student teams in spring 2018. Students developed and presented their plans, including designs focused on the mission of the Dementia-Friendly City Center, an environment designed to promote a comfortable and productive model for everyday life for those living with dementia and their families. The center can be used to encourage a focus on wellness over illness and promote an environment that allows individuals the ability to construct their own everyday narrative. To help achieve this, students focused on creating a design that incorporated four design tenants: sustainability, a therapeutic environment, universal design and way finding.
