Institute for Building Early Relationships
We are building Oklahoma’s capacity to support nurturing relationships for young children
through community-engaged research, education and training, in coordination with the
Department of Human Development and Family Science.
A strong start for children
The relationship between parents and young children forms the foundation for healthy
development and well-being. The Institute for Building Early Relationships (IBEaR)
objective is to conduct research on early cognitive, social and emotional development;
provide training and education to students and professionals; and serve as a virtual
gathering place of expertise for researchers, practitioners and policy makers.
Seminars
We host monthly brown-bag seminars that are free and open to the public on topics
of interest related to infant and early childhood mental health and development.
Seminars are typically held on the first Wednesday of the month from 12-1 p.m.
