Disability and Wellness Research Collaborative
A multidisciplinary team of academics, researchers, advocates, and community partners
in the School of Community Health Sciences, Counseling and Counseling Psychology.
Investigations and Research
The Collaborative’s research investigates health, wellbeing, and equity in many areas,
including disability, neurodiversity, gender and sexual identity.
We are currently interested in bringing awareness to issues around social inclusion. Our team is exploring how social inclusion affects wellbeing in the autistic community, disparities in health care access among disabled people, accessibility in higher education, and gaps in community based care. We also examine the impact of unmet health care needs and social inclusion on wellbeing among disabled, neurodivergent, and gender diverse people.
