Community and Public Health Nutrition
A fresh perspective
Improving knowledge, attitudes and behaviors
We strive to implement programming, policy and environmental interventions where people
live, work and learn to support a positive food and nutrition perspective and establish
healthy habits.
Connecting clinic to community
Community health workers help patients implement lifestyle changes by addressing issues
adversely impacting their health.
Curbing Oklahoma obesity
With support from a nearly $4 million grant from the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, we are working to tackle the obesity crisis and inject healthy living
habits.
Student research
Nutritional sciences master’s student Tina Sergi placed second in the 2019 Three Minute
Thesis (3MT®) competition with her presentation titled “Policy, Systems and Environment: Creating
Sustainable Changes for Police Officers.”
