Cowboys Teach

Thank you for your interest in the CowboysTeach Program. Through generous funding from the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund, we are able to provide you with 13 hours of graduate courses (tuition and fees covered by grant) to help you meet the requirements to achieve full alternative certification through the Oklahoma State Department of Education. This email will provide you with information on what is provided to students, how to enroll, and other steps that you need to take.

  1. Read the CowboysTeach Application Instructions, as it has more details on how to enroll, benefits of the program, and what is covered.
  2. Complete this form to indicate your intent to be a part of the Cowboys Teach Program.
  3. Contact the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) to apply to the appropriate alternative placement program:
      • Ask your building/district administrator for assistance if needed.
      • Note: Alternative Certification recommendations are issued by OSDE; OSU will provide your needed coursework through the CowboysTeach program
  4. Contact your building/district administrator as they may also need to submit paperwork to OSDE
  5. Submit graduate student application to Oklahoma State University by April 30th (details on how to enroll are in the PDF; see item #1)
      • You will still need to submit you Official transcripts to the Graduate College.
      • If you are an OSU alumnus, you can upload your unofficial transcript(s) and then that will trigger the Graduate College to access your official transcript.
      • You can upload unofficial transcripts to your application to help move your application forward.
