University/College-Level Support
A variety of financial supports are available for teacher candidates from the University and their individual colleges.
- College of Education and Human Sciences
We offer scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the College of Education and Human Sciences. Incoming freshman and transfer students are automatically considered for scholarships when they apply for admission to OSU, if they complete the leadership and involvement portion of the application and respond to the essay questions. Continuing undergraduate and graduate students will complete a single scholarship application to be considered for all College of Education and Human Sciences scholarships. State-Level Support
The state of Oklahoma provides a variety of incentives to support teacher candidates and beginning educators.
- Oklahoma Future Teacher Scholarship and Employment Incentive Program (“Inspired to
Teach”)
The Oklahoma Future Teacher Scholarship and Employment Incentive Program ("Inspired to Teach") offers qualified students an opportunity to earn scholarships and benefits. Program participants may have the opportunity to earn up to $25,500 as they complete an Educator Preparation Program and teach in Oklahoma.

- Student Teaching Incentive Scholarship and Completion Stipend
Through a partnership with the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) and the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE), a new program will fund all Oklahoma student teachers annually, beginning in the school year 2021-22 and continuing through the school year 2023-24. To receive the first half ($1625.00) of the funds called the Student Teaching Incentive Scholarship, which will be offered to address student internship expenses, students do not need to take any action.
To be eligible to receive the second half of the funds ($1625.00) called the Completion Stipend, eligibility for this portion of the funds will require both successful completion of your internship and documented acceptance of a full-time teaching position with an Oklahoma public school.
- Oklahoma’s Teacher Shortage Employment Incentive Program (TSEIP)
Students who plan to teach in Oklahoma after graduation can receive reimbursement for eligible student loan expenses or an equivalent cash benefit through TSEIP (Oklahoma’s Teacher Shortage Employment Incentive Program). Among other requirements, participants must teach in an Oklahoma public secondary school for at least five years. This program is only available to OSUTeach students, secondary education (math) majors, and secondary education (science) majors.

- Teach 2 Reach
The goal of the Choctaw Nation’s Teach to Reach Project is to provide support and professional development to Native American individuals to complete a bachelor’s degree in Education and meet all requirements for full state certifications or licensure as an Oklahoma teacher. The focus of this funding is to train more Native Americans to enter teacher education programs and become highly qualified educators.

Teacher Loan Forgiveness
The Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program is intended to encourage individuals to enter and continue in the teaching profession. Under this program, if you teach full-time for five complete and consecutive academic years in certain elementary and secondary schools and educational service agencies that serve low-income families, and meet other qualifications, you may be eligible.
Cancellation for Federal Perkins Loans
Teachers with loans from the Federal Perkins Loan Program could be eligible for loan cancellation for full-time teaching at a low-income school or for teaching in certain subject areas.

- TEACH Grant
A Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant is different from other federal student grants because it requires you agree to complete a teaching service obligation as a condition for receiving the grant, and if you don't complete the service obligation, the TEACH Grant will be converted to a loan that you must repay, with interest.
