Certification Process

Certain criteria must be met before the Office of Educator Support can recommend a candidate for certification.

• You must be fully admitted into Professional Education:

1. 1. Complete and pass OSAT(s) & PPAT
   2. Maintain a minimum 2.50 or 2.75 GPA based on your program
   3. Submit and pass Professional Portfolio
   4. Complete Federal Background check (Use Teacher Certification service code)
   5. Pass the Legal Issues Quiz and Trauma Informed Quiz with 100%

• Complete the Application for Oklahoma School Certificate

1. 1. Complete the top of the form, Part I, Part IV (if applicable), Part V, and Signature
   2. Include your CWID and submit the application to Casey Powell via a secure document portal (Click here  for directions on uploading to secure portal.)

• Make sure you have NO Holds on transcripts
• After your degree is posted, order an e-transcript and have it sent directly to pcasey@okstate.edu.
• You will receive an email once the recommendation is completed and give your next steps for payment and ordering your certificate.
