Motivation in Classrooms Lab
Our mission is to conduct research dedicated to understanding classroom environments that support the motivation of under-represented and historically marginalized students in the state of Oklahoma and beyond.
Research Impact
Our research focuses on supporting teachers, including beliefs and factors that facilitate
a successful learning environment for English language learners. Additionally, we
identify gaps between faculty conceptions of diversity and their teaching practices
to increase student contributions in class discussions.
Current Projects
We continue to study the relationship between the teacher and the student and investigate
the role of social perception by evaluating the teacher’s sense of efficacy. We also
committed to providing resources for K-12 teachers, including the "Motivation Minute”
newsletter with quick tips on how to support student motivation.
Collaborative Effort
Our team comes together across academic disciplines to support students and conduct research.
