What is elementary education?
This major is for students interested in teaching grades 1-8. Students will teach all subjects, including math, science, English and social studies.

OSU collaborates with Stillwater Public Schools on the Excellence in Collaborative and Experiential Learning (ExCEL) Program, in which elementary education majors get an early start on their student teaching experience. The program features a 3-day a week, full-day internship in a public school classroom. Students are partnered with expert classroom teachers and return to campus one-day a week for methods classes.
Student Teaching Abroad
Students have the opportunity to take their student teaching experience abroad, either to Costa Rica or Mexico. The goal of the 15-week international internship program is to expand the personal and professional experience of students to enrich their global perspective as teachers.
