Training early childhood education students
Part of our mission includes providing a premier teaching model for students pursuing
an undergraduate or graduate degree in early childhood education. Students gain real-world,
hands-on learning and research experience within the lab as they combine theory and
learning with daily teaching practice.
Conducting interdisciplinary research
Research projects topics include child growth and development, curriculum development,
assessment and screening, effective instructional practices and literacy development.
Raised garden beds project
Thanks to the generosity of the Bobby and Claranne Hayes family, children now have
the opportunity to plant, harvest and eat from their very own gardens. We have partnered
with the Department of Nutritional Sciences to create recipes and teach lessons to
the children.
