The School of Teaching and Curriculum Leadership offers excellent literacy-focused graduate programs at the master’s and doctoral levels. Our master’s reading/literacy program is nationally accredited (NCATE/CAEP) and helps teachers develop literacy expertise and leadership skills. Successful graduates of the TLL reading/literacy program can be recommended for certification as K-12 reading specialists.
A Ph.D. in reading/literacy provides graduates with the knowledge and experiences needed to pursue careers as literacy education professors, school and district administrators, and literacy organization leaders. Reading/literacy Ph.D. students have the opportunity to explore their academic K-12 literacy interests, develop research expertise, teach undergraduate literacy courses, and become immersed in professional scholarship.
